Casting

What is Casting?

Casting is a process in which the liquid molten metal is poured into a cavity whose shape is the same as that of the casting to be produced and allowing it to solidify. After solidification, the casting will be taken out by breaking the mould.

We have partnered with 300+ casting foundries performing more than four different types of casting methods to produce various materials and grades .Each of these methods and the grade that is poured has a unique significance and is used in a specific application.

Types of casting

Sand Casting

Sand casting is one of the most common and simple methods of casting, and it has been used for centuries

Advantages of Casting Process

  • Complex and intricate shapes can be formed.
  • The tools and equipment used in the casting process are inexpensive.
  • It is the cheapest way to produce shapes and sizes with different mechanical properties.
  • It is economical with very little wastage: the extra metal in each casting is remelted and reused.
  • Disadvantages of Casting Process

  • Higher likelihood of defects.
  • The dimensional accuracy of casting is not very good.
  • Sand casting, the popular technique of casting, is labor-intensive.
  • In some cases, it is not possible to overcome defects.
